Inspired by the newest upload by Anna Akana on YouTube (here), I decided to hop on the topic and share my thoughts. Her video demonstrates why and how not to care about what other people think of us. Anna points out the fact that when we don’t like someone, most of the time is just because we recognized a trait that we dislike in ourselves or we are envious of a trait they have that we want.
Here are some of the personal traits and behaviors that I am dealing with:
If there is one thing that is certain in this life,
it is that the more a person goes through life,
the more he becomes aware of it.
Aware of what is good and what is bad;
of what he likes and what he doesn’t.
He becomes so aware that he begins
to marvel and impress with difficulty
by the beauty around him.
He shifts his focus to other,
much less important things,
He forgets to enjoy the small,
He forgets to enjoy those things
which truly makes
his heart beat…

No, I haven’t missed my time.
My smile goes wide afresh.
From ear to ear, what a mesh!?
You can spot every dot.
But not my throat.
As my teeth are shining lots.

No, I’m just partying with a sea otter.
On the craft about to totter.
We dive under the water. …
Because I thought it would be better.
Because I thought it didn’t make sense.
Because I thought it will go away.
Or it will remain buried deep inside me.
You will not notice it.
Or so I am mistaken.
Because you always notice me.
Because you always recognize me.
You always feel it from afar.
You always catch me like a cookie jar.
After each passing year, we become more and more aware of what is important to us.
We get to know ourselves.
We change our dreams.
We change our grasp and aim.
We become more and more real and open to ourselves in the first place.
We understand more deeply what happiness truly is.
Not the happiness of the world, but our own happiness.

The pleasure of our inner dictum.
It is what makes our hearts beat faster.
It is what makes…

The process is extremely nerve-racking because the more you sort and arrange, the more things appear and you start to wonder if you really need all this. Well, that’s exactly what happened to me, and I’m more than grateful that this year I’ve been able to implement a new way of thinking and living. Not entirely, but I’m…
